JOB SUMMARY

The Finish Supervisor leads the production of high quality finishing of all the Architectural millwork products in a variety of wood species. This role oversees the finishing team and provides guidance in the process in which the work should be completed.

 

ESSENTIAL JOB FUNCTIONS

  • Supervise the finishing team and provide knowledgeable guidance in the process
  • Provide essential input for the establishment and ongoing maintenance of documentation for the company's process including sanding, distressing, finish prep, custom color samples, daily product application check sheets, set up/start up procedures, equipment setting, and maintenance of finishing equipment
  • Maintain quality and production output requirements with the finishing preparation and finishing department employees
  • Demonstrating and enforcing safety rules and regulations
  • Ensure that OSHA/Hazardous waste management is disposed properly
  • Capable of performing all finishing tasks required of the finishing team to support daily production as well as for training purpose
  • Maintain an accurate record of hours worked by the finishing team and be able to verify them
  • Keep an accurate record of the job number assigned to each specific projects

 

 REQUIRED SKILLS/KNOWLEDGE

  • High School diploma or equivalent required
  • Excellent communication skills
  • Bilingual (Spanish/English) a plus
  • Strong work ethic
  • Extensive attention to detail
  • Must be a team player with ability to work positively with team members
  • Time management skills

 

 REQUIRED EXPERIENCE

  • At least 5 years of Finishing experience in a leadership role
  • Extensive experience with Air Assist Airless spray applications
  • Experience with custom color mixing /matching
  • Experience working closely with management and operations team
  • Experience with training and coaching team members in the finishing department

 

 PHYSICAL AND MENTAL DEMANDS

The environmental factors and/or physical requirements of this position include the following: While performing the duties of this job, the employee is required to have ordinary ambulatory skills sufficient to visit other locations; and the ability to stand, walk, stoop, kneel, crouch, and ability to lift up to 50 lbs. Requires good hand-eye coordination, arm, hand and finger dexterity, including ability to grasp, and visual acuity to use a keyboard. The employee frequently is required to sit, reach with hands and arms.
